I lost the bookmarks to the good websites I'd been collecting when my 'puter
locked up awhile back. Good opportunity to use my brain though...the riddle is
the change gear ratio for my QC with 4:11 ring and pinion. The parameters are
180 mph, 6500 rpm driveshaft and a 28" tire....
180 mph is 15, 840 fpm, or 190,00 inches/ min
a 28" tire goes 88" per revolution
I need 2160 axle rpm
With the 4:11 gears I need to overdrive the pinion around 36% approximately
(wow).
