Sorry to confuse you, Chris.
"Kiwi" is a well- known brand of shoe polish (Polish-- polish) here in
the US; its brand logo is a Kiwi bird. "Shinola" is another popular
brand.
There's an old phrase "He doesn't know sh*t from Shinola"--- that's why
you don't want that guy to shine your shoes. : )
I knew I'd confuse you with that reference; it has nothing to do with
NZ, mate.
