I researched many auto darkening helmets and settled on the Optrel brand
complete with solar recharging, no batteries to replace. Has "Made in Sweden"
electronics, I was able to use it for a complete week when I was in the
Lincoln Electric Motorsports welding class this past August. Worked great !
Found it on E-Bay from an Auto Body Supply House, used the buy it now option.
I
do not weld that often, but when i do, I want to be absolutely certain that
my eyes are protected. Afterall, eyes are not easliy or inexpensively
replaced ! Anyone with Cataracts knows exactly what I mean. I would not
advise
going cheap on welding safety equipment. Safety is the number 1 priority!
As I tell the kids in shop class, if you want to play then you have to pay
!!! We have all heard this one before.
