I just heard from a guy who was at the 24 of Daytona.
They were running a Mazda in the GTP class. They were
running a quick-change rear and two hours into the
race the aluminum carrier exploded. He was told the
pulses of the motor produce 600 pounds feet of torque.
When they return next month for another race they want
to try a ford 9-inch rear end with a Gleason-Torsen
or a limited slip instead of a detroit locker. He was
told the locker won't work well in this car. I have
run a locker in the Historic Stock Car series on the
road courses with no problems but those races are a
great deal shorter...thirty laps or so.I've also had
lockers in NASCAR road races with no problems. The 24
of daytona is somewhere around 2500 miles. Would the
gleason or the limited slip beperform better? Any of
you guys have experience with these? especially the
gleason-torsen?
 Thanks for your opinions.
