For all you still guessing . . . . (this is a repost)

the whole dang bunch of images from the picnic are at
http://public.fotki.com/The_Pope/gpa_hot_rod_open_house/
pick through and find the motor pic, click on it for enlarged version
(that's what I told her anyway)

Here's the story I was told.

A retired GM engineer sold the motor to a friend, who sold it to current
owner (going in a 34 chev coup). GM guy was Dave Hedley (?).

Anyway, "they" took two Quad 4 motors, one motor had the last cylinder cut
off, the other the front cylinder was cut off. These blocks were then
"furnace welded" (?) into a straight 6ix motor.

Cams and cranks were custom made ("no, its not billet, its steel" - I guess
the term billet now denotes al-u-minium only?).

Six of these were built, four later dismantled, one went to a museum and
one might have gone out the back door. This was the development program
for the trailblazer 6 motors. (Which are now 4.2 liter?

Its what I was told - I have no ownership in this story.
