I hope all of you had a great Christmas-I am fortunate in that I had three
weeks off-I am not gloating-it is an incredible perk of being a teacher.
Anyways in the Fall I broke my transmission and limited slip
differential-neither of which I have ever had to fix before. Now for most of
you out there I am sure that these types of repairs are no brainers, but I am
amazed at how anxious I can still get , even at my age, at having tto learn
something new. I got a new posi unit for Christmas and I completely rebuilt
the differential-bearings, seals and all. Now I am in the process of
rebuilding the transmission, and lo and behold it is not as complicated as my
imagination first lead me to believe. And as we all know I'm saving at least
50% of the cost of paying someone else to do it.The point is that I continue
to learn that keeping an open mind allows me to achieve more and more and
remove limitations I have often assumed for myself.Yes you can teach an old
dog new tricks , even if they are fairly simple ones . Looking forward to the
new year and a visit to Maxton sometime in 2007. Happy new year to you all.
Scott
