Unfortunately is this "honor" not correct - first, it's a book more about his
friend Art Arfons, also there are a lot of mistakes in - not so bad as
Holthusen, but still to much for a real Historian.............
There are two books which could call himself this title....
Posthumus/Tremayne "Land Speed Record" from 1985 - unfortunately David
Tremayne done no update after the Thrust SSC or Turbinator record.
The other, currently the ultimate book world wide - but in the moment only in
German available - from October 2003 - is up to date, includes also Nolan
White fatal attempt
Ferdinand C. W. Kaesmann
"Weltrekordfahrzeuge - die Schnellsten der Schnellen: Vom Dampfwagen zum
Ueberschallmobil"
includes on 350 pages more than 700 picture, a lot which was never published
before. Most important - the statistics can be also read from not German
language reader - and this list are state of the art.
And the best at last, it's still available over Amazon in the USA.....
