An amazing and interesting link about the 1906 land speed attempts with the
Darracq vs. the Stanley Steamer.

It mentions the conditions of the sand at Daytona and a lot of other
interesting information.B  It ran 197 km/hr (122 MPH) in 1906!

Also, this video link of the Darracq V-8 starting-up and running after
97-years.

(90-degree V-8, pushrod-operated overhead valves, etc.B  Pretty cool for
1906!)
