So I just bought a hefty 600 ft-# 3/4" army surplus torque wrench to assist my
declining physique in removing tight bolts as well as for a couple of >150
ft-# torques I encounter from time to time. Anyway, it says it was last
calibrated a coupla years ago. I checked it against my 37-year-old Craftsman
1/2" click-type torque wrench, and it appeared that the 1/2" wrench applied
25% more torque than indicated! Checking it against a beam-type wrench
confirmed the 25% figure.

So anyone know of a place in the SF East Bay that does re-calibration? San
Jose has a coupla places but that means a half-day trip to get it done, or
packing and mailing.
