I am just learning what Aluminizing is a hot dip process used in exhaust parts over steel as a protection. It appears that the cast iron exhaust manifold on my 38, TA was once aluminized later painted silver. Was the aluminize original? Should I send this part out and have it newley aluminized? Where can I have this done. Part of the cast iron manifold is rather pitted from corrosion. Would it be foolish to buff this down a bit before aluminizing?
