How long since the car's run? With a standing drain of 200mA a 40AH battery
will be flat in a week and a half. However, I wouldn't think that the clock
would draw that much, so say three weeks.
When you fitted the replacement regulator, was it new and already setup, or
used or what? There is a procedure for adjusting the regulator part of the
unit which involves setting open circuit voltages and some other things
which I can't remember offhand. Was anything like this done to confirm
correct operation at that time?
