| I've removed well over 300 plates for cleaning purposes, and always used a drift
for those. In a few cases (when a car had an "exchanged" engine or block and it
was a California titled car) (they were reg'd by engine# when new - as all
Calif.
cars were until Ford finally started to number their chassis) I would remove the
plate Bud's way so I could install a new Moss plate that I stamped with the
correct number All without removing the pan.
Always use a dab of sealer when installing the rivet and look out if you don't
drive it out - they are brittle and you CAN break them right off!
