Welcome to the list!  I'm a new guy, too.
A restoration in one winter? I'm impressed.
Considering the cost of metalworking/re-plating, and taking into account TD 
parts are fairly common, I wonder if it wouldn't be more cost effective and 
speedier to just buy one in new/like new (or even slightly used) condition?  
It's easy to check at abingdonspares.com or at Moss.
I've found a lot of chrome bits are cheaper to buy new than to refinish.  Go 
figure.
I agree 100% with plan to own a "driver."  Although mine hibernates in 
winter, in the summer it's my daily driver and grocery-getter.  These cars 
behave better with regular use, I think.
