Yes, they were split skirt pistons. The original MOWOG pistons were
solid skirt and three ring, (one oil control). When the bore wore out
so quickly, I originally went to a solid three ring cast piston, Jahns I
believe, before changing to a forged piston. The cast pistons have
been in another engine in someone else's car for 25 years now.
