Easy enough to do on a 52 TD:
I just unscrewed the hydraulic line, and then unbolted
the two bolts that hold the master cylinder to the
frame. The push-rod will slide out as you remove
the master cylinder towards the rear of the car, and
can be left attached to the linkage in the nefarious box.
