You may still want to consider the V6 T-5. Mine came from a T-bird turbo coupe. The overdrive is .83 (may be .89, can't remember). This is more than enough with the 3.08 rear end that I have. I can't find my gear chart, but I believe it worked out to a top speed of 165 @ 5000rpm.
