My inital reaction is that it sounds like a leaking clutch hydraulic 
system and/or the system needs to be bled. Is there fluid in the 
master cylinder? does the master cylinder look like it's leaking? If 
you look under the car at the slave cylinder, does it look like it's 
leaking? if you have someone operate the clutch, can you see the 
slave cylinder piston moving? Are the hose/fittings in good shape?
