| All,
Despite the obvious health risks, {cough...cough... thump....} I've
just bought a quantity of zinc chromate primer. Don't worry, I have a
forced air full-face respirator, and plan on covering every inch of my
body (something most women ask me to do, regardless). But the
anti-corrosion benefits seem worth the (small) risk. My question is:
Does anyone know if it is acceptable practice to weld through (while
wearing a respirator, of course) zinc chromate, and has he/she done it?
I know galvanized metal can be welded, but most panels in the aerospace
industry are riveted and bonded, which doesn't help answer my question.
Thanks in advance,
James J.
p.s. I need to get my V-8 conversion done before my co-worker gets his
Cobra Kit car finished. It's a matter of pride! So send all your
positive thoughts this way, and wish me luck.
