I am in awe!  So much excellent advice from the list.  My many thanks 
to all that replied.  But alas, it just shows how little I 
know.  However, I am appalled by how little my 'expert' garage knows 
for they put in the dizzy and made the engine work.........and the 
dizzy is a vacuum one so a vacuum tube should be fitted.  I even had 
it in a "British" specialists place!  I just cannot believe so many 
'experts' missed it.
