I have been getting liquid gas leaking (running) intermittently from the
outlet "downtube" of the charcoal canister on my '73 B. It is most
pronounced when the fuel tank is near full and I brake or corner hard. Does
this mean that the vapor separator is not doing what it's paid to do? This
system seems to have been "jerryrigged" before the car came into my
possession, probably in concert with the fitting of a Weber carb. The vapor
return line, if this is the correct terminology, seems to be as it should be
up to the point of the charcoal canister, from there it's a cobbled mess of
plugged lines. Can the whole system be bypassed or removed? Any thoughts
as to the root/remedy of this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.
