average use MG blocks can go something like 60-80,000 miles before
needing serious attention, but that is really lousy when compared to
the robustness of engines from our friends in the Far East, which can
often go 150,000 miles or more before getting too loose....
It is with some pain that I must acknowledge this. In fact, I understood
that the Volve B16 and B18 engines were copies of the BMC B block - except
rendered of much more durable stuff. Hence all the stories about old B18
cylinder bores still measuring at factory specs after 200,000 miles, etc.
Are harder sleeves available for the B block?
