TSCAR!  Your 1977 MGB will not accelerate above 60mph for several reasons:
Problems in the evaporative loss control system; the ignition system; or
the fuel system. Disconnect the vent line from the carb to the carcoal
adsorption canister.  Does this make a difference at speed?  It shouldn't.
Double check your timing -- it should be 15 degrees before top dead centre
at 1500 rpm, vacuum disconnected.  The vacuum line should then be connected
directly from the intake manifold to the vacuum advance unit -- NOT through
the TCSA switch (as original). The Zenith Stromberg MUST have an original
air filter (aftermarket ones just won't do), and your fuel supply must be
strong enough to fill a pint jar in one minute.  Try these things and get
