I used to run tubes in my "tubeless Michelins" on my '58 MGA that had wire
wheels. But then they used to sell tubes made for radial tires - as I
remember they seemed thicker I guess to deal with the extra heat. I do not
know is such "radial tube" are still available or if all tubes now assume
radial construction.
