And hey, don't forget the famous "Monster List" of vendors, available via
anonymous ftp at triumph.cs.utah.edu. They're the "brit-ven.*" files
in the /sol directory.
Here's what my directory command gives:

TRIUMPH.CS.UTAH.EDU>cd sol
<Please read the file README.SOL
< it was last modified on Mon Mar 13 08:27:07 1995 - 78 days ago
<CWD command successful.
TRIUMPH.CS.UTAH.EDU>dir brit-ven.*
<Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
-rw-r--r-- 1 99 52 31800 Oct 13 1994 brit-ven.A-B
-rw-r--r-- 1 99 52 40563 Oct 13 1994 brit-ven.C-J
-rw-r--r-- 1 99 52 44671 Oct 13 1994 brit-ven.K-P
-rw-r--r-- 1 99 52 42601 Oct 13 1994 brit-ven.Q-Z
<Transfer complete.

You really won't believe how huge this list is, or how helpful. Most of
the entries are accompanied by comments (some good, some bad!) from people
who have been customers of that particular vendor. I don't remember who is
maintaining it now, but every time I have received new info about a vendor
and checked against the list, the list has the correct info. You'll note
that the current date on the list is about 7 months old.
