Our 51 TD, with about 38,000 miles since new, has begun making a a gearbox noise that seems to be getting steadily worse. It radiates from the shift lever and sounds like a rattle as if something is loose. It quiets down if I hold my hand on the shift lever and happens in all gears but only when the engine is pulling. Anybody have any thoughts as to what might be the cause? Thanks, Gene. |
