It could be due to the points bouncing and causing a double pulse to go
through the coil. I had an electronic ignition module that did just that,
it made the coil too hot to touch after about 30 seconds running.
Converting to a new ignition pickup module and coil (the old one was
knackered) solved the ever so slight misfire that was the only sign of
anything amiss.
