Jacking up the front end of a TD

Can anybody advise me on the proper equipment and procedure for raising
the front end of my TD? I need to work on the front suspension. The shop
manual just says to block it up.

Thanks in advance. (Maybe someday I'll be knowlegable enough to return
some advice to the list.)
