  Thanks to the tip by CEdwards@pinn.net....he hit the nail on the head.  The
diaphragm in the Stromberg had a tear.  Fortunately I had bought a
carbureator kit shortly after buying the car and had one on hand.   Runs
great now!
   My wife now sees the value in using the Internet!  She thought a computer
was just used for playing games.
