Start the TC and run it for a while before you make overly-enthusiastic
noises. I know several locals who have tried the Moss seal, including one
professional T-type restorer/mechanic. No one has yet been very satisfied. I
am told, they have a tendency to seal poorly, especially after the engine
has run a while. This despite making sure that the instructions were
followed to the letter and that the journal was clean and smooth (polished,
in fact).
Don't get me wrong, it's a clever idea. But local experience has shown less
than optimal results. One of the engines has had the seal removed. One is
still leaking badly.

How about one of you enterprising people designing an aftermarket rear seal
for these early B's. Al Moss (of Moss Motors fame, but no longer directly
affiliated with the Co.) recently did just that for the T series. I just
installed one of his seals on my TC engine and, although I haven't run it
yet (the body is still in boxes), I am impressed with his clever design. I
sent him a note saying I will be his first customer if he makes a rear seal
for the B.
