rich idle or idle rich?

(john whitehead put a hipo cam in his car and has mixture problems)

howzcome nobody selling this stuff (TRS cams, headers, etc) bothers
to mention in their catalogs (especially VB - "order yours today!") that
you need to re-jet the carbs to get the most out of the mods?

you should be able to correct the idle mixture by frobbing the appropriate
mixture screw (sorry, i'm HIF challenged).. as for the lean crusin',
you probably need to change the metering needles to match the needs of your
new cam.

the best way to do this is to find somebody with a rolling road dyno who
knows SUs (i'd recommend charlie rockwell in the SFBA, but from your
email address i assume (yea yea ass/u/me, thanks) you're in NY..)

i think there are others on the list who can give you pointers about how
to select the appropriate metering needles without a dyno, but i'm not one
of them. there's a program on the website called suneedle.exe (i think)
that will apparently assist this process, but i haven't tried it.
