TD w/MGA axle?

Hi all,
 Pondering a brake problem. My 53 TD has what I thought was an MGA rear
end. Well I'm overauling the brakes and got to the rear drums where I
found a dual piston cylinder like what I expect in a B. Question is did
late MGA have this setup or will a B rear end fit under a TD?  Thanks
