Greetings:

Here is an item that might be interesting to those of you who receive DIRECTV
programming via satellite.

A new channel called SpeedVision (SV channel 306) has just come on the feed.
The 24-hour format is Automotive, Aviation and Nautical. Right now, they are
running archival footage of auto and grand prix motorcycle racing. Also
programs on historic aircraft and so on.

Here is the fun part: Because they apparently have not yet sold advertising,
they are running old British car ads in the commercial slots. The ads are BMC
from the early to late sixties and BL adverts through the seventies. The ads
feature Wolseley, Morris, Austin, MG and Mini. There are quite a few Triumph
ads from TR4A through TR7. Some are aimed at the domestic market, some for US
and I noted at least one Spanish and one or two French adverts as well.

Oh, and Ms. Thorpe, the 1100 receives honourable mention with some clever
ads.

I'm posting this as an item of interest and have no affiliation with DIRECTV
or SpeedVision.

Safety at a leisurely pace!
