Maybe I can stop this one before it starts. Is $5,500 alot for an MGB?
I say it depends on the B. Just got off the phone with with a fellow
enthusiast who has a friend who spent $35,000 on the restoration of an
MGB, no the comma is not in the wrong place and I did not forget the
decimal point, Thirty-five thousand dollars. It has a fuel injected
Rover V8 and custom transmission built by Ken Costello. Custom Leather
interior and I'm sure is immalulate in every way. Knowing this and
given the choice between Mercedes E (economy)serie or this car which
would you opt for? I'm driving the B down my own little imagination
highway right know as I'm typing this and loving it.
Whats the point? A car is what you make of it. The most I've ever spent
to purchase a MG was $1,500 and I have bought nine. One of them is a
project in works and I don't expect it to cost any less $5,000 with me
doing quite a bit of the work. My present driver I've put $1,500 into
and will be putting another $2,500 to $3,000 this coming winter. The
car I sold a few weeks ago I put $1,400 dollars into and would have put
twice that more into it had I kept it. Every car is different and when
it comes to MGBs I love them all from the $200. dollar ones to the
$40,000 dollar ones.
