Hi folks,

The overdrive I refered to is the Triumph Spitfire one, which
requires some mods to the transmission tunnel to get it to fit. There
is a kit of bits (in the UK) from the Nottingham MG centre to do the
conversion, but it cuts away all of the floor of the transmission
tunnel.

The Healey company apparently had some MGB overdrive gearboxes built
into 1275 gearcases for their Le Mans cars, but this would be very
expensive to copy.
