Yup- increased flow, better flow characteristics.

Actually, the main drawback of both the A and B-series engines is the siamezed
(joined) ports, where the flow in & out of one cylinder interferes with the
flow of another. Joined intakes restrict carb setups, and joined exhaust
limit header designs. WIth a crossflow, you can have *dual* webers, with
one bore feeding each cylinder...

As always, don't forget that it's a system- change one part, and you'll
probably need to change it all to yeild actual performance improvements.
