In my experience (having driven both chrome and rubber bumpered B's), chrome
bumpers usually wave to chrome bumpers; chrome bumpers also usually wave to
rubber bumpers; rubber bumpers wave to all B's too - well the drivers wave,
not the bumpers, unless they're loose. On a divided highway or in bad
weather they will flash (lights, silly!). B drivers tend to wave more often
to B drivers but not infrequently to midgets, and are little less likely to
A's or other earlier models. They usually smile, even if they don't wave.
In a parking lot, MG owners who are driving their "other" cars will walk up
to an MG driver and talk about the MG they have at home.

Of course, anyone can be having a bad day or concentrating on getting just a
little closer to home before the car breaks down. If a driver doesn't wave
or smiile, he or she may be driving a borrowed (or worse) car, or may be "new
at this" (hmmm, or may be just a jerk).

Heck, if you look like you're having a good time, even people driving big
American or German cars will smile or wave.
