Hay Mg'ers,
I just got around to correcting an oil leak on my 80B. The rubber seal
between the oil filter head and block had grown old and brittle.(I know the
feeling.)
I think previous owner(s) may have cranked down on the filter head bolt to
try and stop leak. The seal was a b____ to get out of the grove. Lot's of
WD40,(what doesn't this stuff do?), and a screwdriver ground down to fit the
grove finally did it.
By the way. I never minded a little oil leak. It's like a coutiniously
renewing undercoating. You won't find rust on cross members with a coating
of motor oil.
