I have had very good luck using plain old Rustoleum or Red Devil. I have
painted 3 sets of drums and all of them have stood up pretty well to the
heat and environment. The sectret I found was to prep the drums really
well, remove all traces of loose rust (I used a sand-blasted for this),
then lay on several THIN coats of Rustoleum, lettinh each coat dry over
night. I think on the last set of drums I eventually put about six thin
coats.
I also did this on 2 sets of disc calipers and was pretty happy wit the
end result. The only place the paint is lifting, is where brake fluid was
laft on the paint after bleeding the barakes.
