The Orbital Engine Corporation has now progressed from research and development
of its Orbital Combustion Process (OCP) engine to customer driven
commercialisation of the product.

The key to Orbital's technlogy is direct fuel injection (DFI) which has
been commercially applied to Mercury Marine V6 200 horsepower outboards
since early this year.

In July this year 20 Ford Festivas, incorporating Orbital technology, were
road registered here in Australia for an extended period of road testing.

I drove one such car about 18 months ago around Wakefield Park Raceway -
three cylinder two stroke with direct fuel injection. Great low speed
torque in all gears.

There is a factory in Michigan manufacturing or capable of manufacturing engines
and the company is looking now at the motor cycle and the recreational
vehicle market. In addition an R & D programm exists, in collaboration with
Siemens, to adapt this direct fuel injection method to 4 stroke motors.
