I too have a 1980 B and the pressure is the same on mine, we are doing well.
But, should there be any argument, I will quote directly from the 1980 MGB
owners manual:
" ...as the oil is circulated and warmed the pressure should then
drop to
between 50 and 80 lbf/in2 at normal running speeds and to between 10 and 25
lbf/in2 at idling speed."
