I have two suggestions for a driving experience near the Tennessee-North
Carolina border. If you're REALLY into tight cornering and your car is set
up well, U.S Hwy 129 at Deal's Gap N.C. This road is legendary among
sport motorcycle riders. You can also get a T-Shirt from the grocery store
at
the bottom of the pass with the legend "I survived Deal's Gap - 318 curves
in 11 miles". But forget looking at scenery, you'll be busy driving.
For more scenery, still some good curves, and a saner pace, try the
Foothills
Parkway near Townsend.
