MGB Moss filter adapter

Hi All,

Has anyone installed a Moss canister filter adapter in a 1967 or earlier MGB
engine that has been converted over to the 4 synchro transmission?

The 4 synchro transmission requires the use of the later style starter. 
This sticks out further and interferes with filter canister.  There doesn't
seem to be enough room for the spin on adapter.  Has anyone had any success
with this?  Thanks.
