Hydraulic Jack Oil is the easy answer. Most auto parts stores know what
that is and it comes in a small can or bottle with a handy spout.

For those who think they need high performance stuff, go to a motorcycle
shop and buy some hydraulic fork oil. I would think 20wt would be plenty
thick enough. Then you have to make your own spout.
