The intake manifold you have came with the weber. The water connection is to
reduce pooling of fuel in the manifold. Keep it as is

My 1980 MGB came from the PO with a weber down draft and headers. My
problem is this: is it necessary to plumb the water through the intake
manifold below the carb? Was this water connection just a function of the
choke on the original carb or did it also serve to preheat the air / fuel
mixture? Can I reroute around this with one piece of hose or keep it as is?
Thanks in advance.
