First , to get "cool " air, after turning the knob to off, check the
heater valve at the engine (above the distributer), and see that the
valve is shut off. Even though the knob says off, you have to make sure
the valve is shut off. the valve is closed if the piece of metal in the
curved groove is closest to the head end.
That's the best I can explain it.
