I've been using Permetex High Tack 'Spray-A-Gasket' Adhesive Sealant,
Part no. 99GA, for EVERYTHING!
I can't say enough about it. It will spray a thin coat of gasket sealer,
thicker if you multi coat. It's expensive, about $4.50 at NAPA, for a
little can, but I've had my one and first can last through one auto
trans rebuild and assorted other gaskets. It's still going strong.
It can be used for most automotive gaskets, hi temp, fuels, etc.
I use it for all gaskets, it has made all my other tubes of magical
automotive lotions & potions obsolete.

For example;
The transmission I rebuilt was a '61 Buick Dynaflow, notorious for leaks.
This trans is built with dissimilar metals-cast iron, aluminimum, steel.
Combine this with high and hot internal pressures (around 200psi) and
you have a trans that is born to leak. 5,000 miles after the rebuild
there's not a drop, not a sweat, not even a discoloration around the
gasket joints. Being that this sprays a micro thin and even coat, it
will keep tolerances more correct than a bead of goo.

This is also great for that big, weepy, carburator gasket that seals the
float bowl. No more yellow carb, gas goo, seeping around that gasket.

Like I said, I can't say enough about it.

P.S. I don't work for Permatex, blah, blah, blah.......
