Actually this is not a new idea..in fact most of the large parts houses
have their own anyway. They wouldn't let you get your hands on it tho!
They really don't want people being able to instantly cross reference
part numbers across brands or competitors to easily know if you can save
a few bucks here or there! And prior to the computer age, companies had
tons of xref books to aid them. Of course xrefing is an endless game in
never ends and is never complete. It is a LOT of work, countless hours,
and verification is almost impossible until you have parts in hand. Also
many xrefs go forward as supercessions but aren't valid in reverse. So a
newer part no. might replace an older part no..but the older one won't
work in place of the newer part.
