A little trick to getting wire wheels truly balanced .
 
After the guy/gal does the spin balance and pronounces them " balanced",
have him /her   take the wheel off the machine and then ask that he mount it
back and spin it again .If  the wheel is truly balanced the figures will
come up 00   00 on his machine. If it shows more weight is needed  have
him/her take off all the weights and start over.   This will insure that the
wheel wasn't balanced  off center.

BTW  , What Carol had to say about wires makes lots of sense to me. The
great arctic trip cost me 8 spokes. 

Also British Wire Wheel was recommending the Dunlops if you want painted
wheels. Seems Dayton did some retooling and the Dayton wheels are giving  a
lot of trouble    fitting the splines .
