Trevor, you are are an absolute Burke!
Norys post was - for my money - spot on, we none of us live in a vacuum
where we
can dictate the actions, thoughts and reactions of others nor should we
become
all self-righteous and moody when anyone says anything we dont agree with
or - God forbid - which is outside of the narrow field under immediate
discussion.
I used the following word the other day in connection with the "music at
shows"
thread (which i realise is dangerously damn close to off-topic....mea
culpa.) TOLERANCE.
use of this concept in concert with the delete key gives all of us as
much control
as we need or deserve over what our eyes encounter in this forum.
In the 14 months i have been on this list i have had fun with every
aspect of its content,
learned a great deal, received (and i hope occasionally given) help and
consolation
laughed, cried, felt good, felt bad, met a huge number of great
like-minded people
both in person and by correspondence and generally broadened my MG - and
personal -
experience by several fold. You can certainly assume that this would not
have been the case
had it all been faceless, humourless technical discussion never giving
any hint about the
personalities behind the posts

Bring on the parts lists!
Bring on the cat jokes!
Bring on sensitive Triu**h owners who will run away in disgust at the
vaguest prompting
Bring on legalese about california smog laws - which was as dry as old
farts but obviously
important to some people

Apologies for the rant - theres still an old
"everybodys-got-to-be-somewhere" hippy in here
