I could sure use some help from you folks. Is it logical for the idle to
be smoother when the timing (set at idle without vacuum attached) is
higher...like at 20 degrees? This is a 79 B with the 8.8 pistons, mild road
cam, Ansa exhaust, "European distributor" and a Weber downdraft. At 15
degrees, the idle is slightly rough and almost feels like it is loading up.
At 20 degrees, everything is right with the world except at higher speeds
and under load I get pinging. Should I run at 20 degrees without the
vacuum advance? Thanks for your help.
